Two things you need when you're looking for Ink Jet replacements. Great value and fast shipment.
I would not do business with this seller again because of their post sale attitude. This package came with a black ink tank that will not run in my Canon ip3500, although Amazon said it would. When I gave the seller feedback after they had asked for it, they had a bad attitude. One example of a response was, "its obvious that you ordered the wrong item did you even read the listing BEFORE you bought it"At no time was I being hard about this matter, I was just stating the facts.
I cut the tab off the empty cartridge and was able to wedge it in place. It's too late in the game to ask for a refund/replacement, so I've lost about $13.00. I ordered this pack in 2008 and just today needed to add the black tank to the printer. The printer did recognize the new cartridge and print, but obviously the cartridge is not snug in the compartment and I'm not sure how long it will last. Learn from my mistake and check each cartridge in the multipack for the plastic tab. When I went to install I found that the cartridge was missing the plastic pressure tab that holds the cartridge in place. It looked like it was manufactured without it.
Text printed using these cartridges in all of the Print modes (FAST, STANDARD or HIGH) are sharp. Why you would need colors to make black more "vibrant" boggles me. To sum it all up: These ink cartridges produce text and photos that are of phenomenal quality. I use the CLI-8 series ink tanks for my Canon IP4200. The main gripe I have is the price of ink cartridges. Almost all resources point to the canned response from Canon stating that this is done to make the colors more "vibrant." I mean black is black is black. Despite this price of the printer cartridges, I have still rated the Canon CLI-8 Multipack Ink Tanks 5 stars by virtue of the impressive quality of color and black and white prints they produce.
The quality of the photos are true-to-life and comparable to those from a photo lab (yes, they're that good).- ReliabilityThese printer cartridges have proven to be very reliable for me. My printer also uses another black cartridge, the PGI-5.---There you have it. It would, of course, be a much better deal with this package if you need to get all the colors. I have yet to encounter a faulty ink cartridege that the printer had to reject.- Ink UsageAt the lowest quality mode, I can print about a ream's worth of paper - double-sided.Cons----- Ink UsageMy printer actually uses all of the color ink cartridges - at about the same rate. The CLI-8 printer cartridges can be brought separately: Cyan CLI-8C, Magenta CLI-8M, Yellow CLI-8Y, and CLI-8 Black.
I use my printer primarily for printing text documents and only occasionally print pictures.Pros----- True-To-Life Color CartridgesThe color production for both text and images is superb. Go figure.- PriceLast, I should mention the price of cartridges are more on the steep side. I Googled extensively on why this was done. The sharpness and deep black color on FAST and STANDARD modes rival that produced by the best laser printers. I had the same experience with my old HP printer as well.
This was a good value also. Love the canon ink. My Pro9000 uses 8 colors, but it is nice to be able to buy just 4 if that is all I need.
